Spring Garden Plate

It was my first time working with kohlrabi and carrot tops – both inspired by my recent trip to @calabasasfarmersmarket.
Fresh, organic, locally grown produce is the best, and I’m grateful to have so many local options to source from. These gems were from John Givens and @freckerfarms – two of my favorites at the Calabasas market. I was inspired by the beauty of these fresh ingredients, and decided to make a little “garden on a plate”! 🪴🌈🌱
The puree – blended until smooth:
Kohlrabi, peeled & boiled 💚
Roasted garlic 🧄
Basil 🌿
Olive oil 🟡
Himalayan pink salt 🏔️💕🧂
Black pepper 🖤🌶️
For the “garden”: 🌱🪴
1 kohlrabi, peeled & boiled, hollowed in the center 💚
Roasted asparagus (oven roasted with a touch of sea salt and olive oil) 🌱
Roasted beets – red and golden ♥️💛
Radishes ♥️
Snap peas 🌱
Chives 🌿
Pistachios 🥜
Fried carrot tops (fried in olive oil) 🥕🌱
Fresh basil leaves 🌿🍃
